Activities and Trips

At Faith Christian Academy, we believe in a teaching approach that transcends traditional academics. Our curriculum integrates hands-on learning opportunities through local partnerships and field trips to provide students with a dynamic and relevant educational experience.

Our curriculum is designed to be engaging and interactive, with an emphasis on nurturing students' intellectual and spiritual growth. We use a blend of traditional instruction and innovative practices to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure that every student thrives.

Our Approach to Physical Education

Physical education at Faith Christian Academy is all about taking advantage of our natural surroundings and local resources. We explore the forest and great outdoors, making the most of our close proximity to nature. Our students also enjoy sessions at Isaute, where they get to experience the fun of trampolines. Briefly, our Forest Play program allows students to engage in outdoor play, and we occasionally use the facilities at the John Abbott gym center for various activities.

Field Trips

Field trips are an essential part of our curriculum, allowing students to apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings. Last year, our students visited various educational sites, including a trip to the Montreal Science Centre. These experiences enrich students' understanding and appreciation of the subjects they study, making learning both fun and impactful.

Trips Abroad

In 2023, our high school students had the incredible opportunity to travel to Paris and London. These trips abroad are designed to broaden students' horizons, allowing them to experience new cultures, languages, and histories firsthand. Such experiences are invaluable in fostering a global perspective.

Retreats

Last year, our students participated in a retreat at Frontier Lodge, a Christian Youth Camp on Lake Wallace. This retreat was a time of reflection, connection, and spiritual growth, providing students with a break from the everyday to focus on their faith and bond with their peers.

Community Outreach

We are committed to fostering a spirit of service in our students. This past year, our students partnered with The Dorion Dream Center Food Bank, where they prepared meals and participated in community outreach activities.

This partnership provides students with the opportunity to give back to the community and learn the importance of empathy and social responsibility.

Forest Play Partnership

Forest Play is a unique educational experience that complements our academic program by providing students with the opportunity to learn through outdoor play and nature exploration. This program is designed to foster an appreciation for the environment and to develop emotional intelligence through experiential outdoor play.

By integrating Forest Play into our curriculum, we offer students a chance to connect with nature, develop teamwork skills, and grow in confidence as they navigate the challenges of the natural world. This partnership is a testament to our commitment to providing a well-rounded education that prepares students for success in all aspects of life.
